Life after Steel

This project was a space for me to apply my background in political science, interest in community-building, and apply my emerging skills as a design researcher.

I focused on understanding Pittsburgh’s rich industrial history and local efforts to preserve it during an era of revitalization. It paralleled my own transformation and helped me become a connected to my local community.

My proposed design solution combined helping new city residents easily navigate the city while building an awareness of Pittsburgh’s history changing social landscape, ultimately empowering them to become engaged members of their community.
